About

Introduction: A message from Nikki Miers, National Operations Manager ABC

At the new ABC we recognise that recent times have been difficult and uncertain for many families and staff members in our Centres. We have also identified a need to shift focus and realise that biggest is not always best. What is important is quality of care and the standard of education provided to your children. But before we act first we need to listen to you! We want to hear about your experiences with ABC Learning Centres the good, the bad and the 'could be better'. Your thoughts could be about childcare in general, and the day to day aspects of finding the perfect Centre, your experiences with waitlists or the dreaded first day! You may like to share your ABC experience showing other families what really happens in your centre. You may just like to chat to other families about your child's individual needs and draw on their similar experiences. To help us move forward and build a new ABC, we need to know the things that excite you, worry you, make you smile or make you frustrated. You can consider this forum the first step in opening our doors and sharing an honest conversation with you. We welcome you to contribute however you feel comfortable and help us pave a positive way forward for ABC. Our ears are to the ground, so please start talking!

Who can chat?

This forum is designed for like-minded parents to share an open and honest dialogue with ABC and each other about childcare issues that matter to you. These conversations are public discussions between parents, friends and families so whether you are here to ask a question, answer a question or just browse, this forum is all yours. Of course, when the need arises, a representative from ABC will be on hand to answer any of your queries or concerns in an honest, personal and non-confronting way. Remember, no matter who you are or your involvement with ABC or the childcare industry, this forum is open to everyone.

Why should you chat?

Over the past decade, the Australian childcare industry has changed enormously. And to be perfectly honest, ABC has played a significant role in these changes and contributed to some level of the upheaval in the industry. Now it's time to listen to our families and communities to uncover the opportunities that exist to improve the quality of childcare in Australia. This is your opportunity to affect change and help mould the future of Childcare in Australia.

How do you get involved?

This forum has been created for you and you can get involved in a number of ways. If you have something that you want to share about ABC or if you are interested in seeking other parent's points of view please submit a video or start a new text thread. If you see a thread topic that relates to your experience of childcare or ABC go ahead and contribute - there are other mums and dads relying on you! However, if you would rather just browse the site to get an idea of how other parents view ABC and childcare, feel free to do so or simply search for topics that are relevant to your family's needs.
